Antique Georgian / Victorian Fireplace Stamped LADY MILLER

Reference: AI 1147 - Original antique Georgian/Victorian cast iron fireplace. Stamped LADY MILLER This is a stunning fireplace of very unusual and exceptional design. Having delicate floral emblems against a fine reeded background. Large burning area with an attractive ash pan situated below with two brass handles.On the rear of the fireplace [ see last pic ] is stamped LADY MILLER. As I have never seen this design in 45 years of trading I am assuming it could have been specially made for a titled lady called Lady Miller. Was it Lady Miller of Froyle or was it connected to Lady Miller of Manderston House on the Scottish Borders or LADY MIILER OF THE CLAN MILLER The fireplace was removed from a Georgian property near Aberdeen so the Scottish connection is the most likely. Intriguing. We may never know.
