Reference: AI 1152 - Original antique Edwardian fireplace with a unique history. This fireplace depicts a stunning image of an elegant lady walking in a park area surrounded by two peacocks. The story is that a rich Edwardian couple were deeply in love and became married and went to Paris for their romantic honeymoon. Unfortunately the bride became ill and tragically died on their honeymoon. The bridegroom was devastated and heartbroken and commissioned an artist to produce a painting in memory of his belovered sweetheart. That painting hangs in the Tate Gallery and is called “ The Lady In The Park” The publicity surrounding this story obviously resulted in a Foundry producing this exceptional fireplace Sold complete with it’s set of original tiles but tiles could be changed at an extra cost
